How to Prepare a Property for a 360° Tour Shoot

Inside, room by room

Tidy every roomClear counters, tables and floors. Put away shoes, cables, bins, laundry and anything loose: nothing can hide behind the camera.
Make the bedsStraighten bedding, cushions and throws; close wardrobe doors and toilet lids.
Turn every light onCeiling lights, lamps, under-cabinet lights, even in daylight. It evens out the light from room to room.
Open blinds and curtainsOpen them all the way, the same in every room, to let the daylight in.
Mirrors, photos and personal itemsPut away family photos, documents, mail, medicines, keys and anything with a name or address on it. Wipe mirrors and glass: they show up in every view.
Open the inside doorsSo the tour can walk from room to room the way a buyer would.

Balcony, garden and entranceSweep the balcony, terrace or yard, set out the cushions, and move bins, hoses and tools out of sight. Tidy the pool area if there is one.
Parking and accessIf you can, keep the driveway and the street in front clear of cars. Tell us how to get in: gate code, parking spot, floor and entrance.

People and pets out of shotPlan for pets to be out, or in one room we skip, and for everyone to step out of each room while we shoot it.
Screens and fans offSwitch off TVs and computer screens and stop ceiling fans, so nothing blurs.
Someone to let us inAbout an hour for a typical apartment. Someone just needs to open the door; we handle the rest.
